    "Margarita, when I approached you ... about joining with me to save the Puerto Rican/Hispanic Day 
    Parade, I had no doubt that I had made the right decision.  We would have been happy with just saving
    the Parade but you went above and beyond that.  The excitement was in the air.  The Parade was
    larger than before, there were many bands on the floats, the turnout was outstanding.  All this thanks to
    the tireless hours that you spent putting this together.... [Y]our daughter Mariana worked day and night 
    ... working out every detail.  The Parade Committee we formed got to work immediately ....  It was a 
    diverse group that was able to put their differences aside  ....  It just goes to show you what we can
    accomplish when we all work together.  It was a wonderful example of a new civic maturity that is
    evolving in our community.  The day of the Parade everyone had the feeling that the Man Upstairs had
    blessed us with such a beautiful day.  I believe that we will all remember this as one of the proudest
    days in the history of Brentwood."
